Happy New Year to you all!
I’m entering the new year full of optimism, despite the fact I had to call in sick my first day back to work because of the flu!

I saw the new year in with some of my closest friends. We didn’t go out, but just spent time with each other. It was one of the best New Years I’ve had in such a long time. Relaxed and comfortable, no anti-climax or worrying about how much money we were spending.

I feel more in control than ever before. Even if my life doesn’t change drastically this year, it will because that’s the way I want it. But, I am determined not to procrastinate and to make this year count.

I also want to make sure I appreciate every day, and document more of them, including making sure I write on here more. Some of that will be easier, courtesy of the new camera we treated ourselves to for Christmas!!

I was required to work in Weymouth this Monday. So, we thought we’d take advantage.

With a hotel booked, on Sunday hubby & I set off on a 3 hour drive!

It’s amazing what a change of scenery does for the body and soul!

I’ve always loved the sea. Although we were wrapped up in jumpers and coats, it was a fabulous afternoon. Relaxed. And look at what we found on the beach!

Sometimes we all need to take a break. This wasn’t a trip abroad, but it was nice to get away even just for one night.

Life’s not all bad! I just need to remind myself of that once in a while!

Its not really a secret that the UK is not having the best of summers!

However, it does appear that the Olympics were a lucky charm around the opening & closing ceremonies!

So last weekend I took advantage. I abandoned any notion of housework and took myself off to the garden with my book….

I love the garden!

And got my Olympic painted toes out to catch some colour!

The sunshine really rejuvenates the soul. I was so content over that weekend and truly relaxed. I really need to get my arse into gear & move to a country where the sun shines a lot more!!!

Here is to hoping we squeeze a few more sunny days in before Autumn comes!
